Opening Spam Can Kill Your Computer
When you receive spam in your inbox, you have one of three
options. You can ignore it and delete it, you can open it and delete
it or you can open it and click the option at the bottom of the
email to ask to be taken off of the list. The only one that makes
sense is to delete it without opening it at all. The reason for this
is that once you open a spam email, you are potentially risking
ruining your computer. The reason for this is that some spam emails
are nothing more than viruses.
The average spam that you will get is some company who purchased
your email address from another company as a means of advertising
their wares. I know that most of the spams I receive are about
Viagra, cialis and other sexually explicit products. I had been
warned many times about opening these emails but for some reason I
just opened it anyway. That alone caused my computer to freeze up
regularly which I later learned was because the email itself
contained a worm that attached itself to my windows programs and
took up too much space.
It is absolutely essential to know that simply opening a spam email
can destroy your computer. Spam was initially created to provide
businesses with a way to communicate and advertise to potential
customers, in much the same fashion as direct snail mail does.
However hackers have found a way to use them for their means as
well. Many of these emails are viruses and worms in themselves that
get released upon being opened.
What happens when you open these spam emails is a lot like what
happens when you open a jar that contains bugs in it. They fly all
over the place and leave their jar. Spam bugs often attach to your
computers DLL files and then duplicate themselves. This takes up
most of your computer’s resources and eventually causes freezes or
complete crashes in the long run. Delete your spam emails or forward
right away if you really want to stay on the safe side. Otherwise,
you might be looking for a new computer in the near future. Hackers
count on your curiosity to get the better of you, so don’t let them
get the satisfaction of destroying your computer.
