How To Build an Affiliate Marketing Website that Sells

 

Every year, thousands of people try to make it in affiliate marketing - Some succeed, but many don't.

One key reason some people succeed while others don't is because a lot of people just don't know how to build an affiliate website that really sells. 

How do you build an affiliate marketing website that can actually get someone to take out their credit card?

Here's how.

=> Great Content 

The most important ingredient in getting someone to pay for something is trust and credibility. 

If you have trust and credibility with someone, you don't have to sell something very hard to get them to buy it. On the other hand, if you have no credibility, it's hard to sell someone on something even if you tried your best to sell the product. 

Building trust online comes down to providing great content. Provide great content and genuinely impress your visitor. Then and only then will they give you credibility - And give your links credibility. 

=> Pre-Selling 

Rather than trying to get people to buy by saying "buy buy buy," try pre-selling. 

Pre-selling can take many forms. Here are three: 

- Selling the problem. Rather than selling the product directly, play up the problem. Make them really see how big a deal the problem is, then recommend your product as the solution. 

- Sell the solution. Sell a specific type of solution, then recommend your product. For example, talk about the benefits of a natural cure for acne rather than using unhealthy chemicals. Then recommend your product which is a natural cure for acne. 

- Pre-selling your affiliate product directly. Share your experience or other people's experiences as well as its main points. Don't push too hard, but build up excitement and let the merchant do the actual selling. 

=> Split Testing 

Building an affiliate page that sells is a lot about split testing. You may not build a successful page the first time around, but if you split test consistently you will eventually have a page that converts. 

There are a few things you should split test on your affiliate page: 

1) The headline. It's one of the main factors that determines your success. 

2) The affiliate offer. Try different products and prices. Try both pay per sale and CPA offers. This too is one of the main things that can affect your conversion. 

3) The call to action. Try testing various different versions of the call to action, including the buy button. 

4) Where you make the recommendation. Do you do it all the way at the bottom of the page, or do you take a stab at getting the sale right up front? Try both and see what kind of results you get.

These are 3 of the most important components to a successful affiliate marketing website.

Start by building credibility to a great website.

Then pre-sell the product you're trying to sell.

Finally, split test your results and incrementally improve your results.
