Can I Really Create My Own Website?

If you’ve never built a website and you’re wondering if you really can – I’m here to tell you, the answer is unequivocally “YES.”

It can seem difficult from the outside, but once you really get in there and start building, you’ll be surprised how easy it is.

You Don’t Need Technical Skill

In the past, you had to learn all kinds of technical skills in order to build a website. Today, any technical skills you do or don’t want to learn are completely up to you.

If you don’t want to learn any technical skills whatsoever, you can still build an amazing website. We’ll talk about that shortly.

The only downside to not learning any technical skills is that it’s a little harder to customize your websites. Meaning, if you want your website to look precisely one way or the other, it’s harder without learning HTML.

That said, if you’re okay with using a website template that’s been pre-designed by a professional and don’t need to customize it much, then you don’t need technical skills at all.

If you did choose to learn technical skills, the skills you’d learn would primarily be HTML, CSS and Photoshop.

HTML & CSS will allow you to edit and customize your website to do just about anything you want. You’ll be able to build websites from scratch. Learning HTML and CSS will take about a month to learn if you study hard.

Photoshop will allow you to design your own images. You can make your own photos look better, create headers, edit product images, etc.

Again, neither of these skills are necessary to build a highly professional, great-looking website.

Building a Site with Zero Technical Knowledge

The first time you build a site, keep it as simple as possible. One of the best ways to do that is to create your site using a service that does just about everything for you.

One such service is Blogger.com. One of Blogger’s claims is that you can have your site up within 10 minutes of beginning the process. They absolutely live up to that claim.

Creating a blogger site is so simple; all you need to do is follow the on screen instructions. You’ll be able to pick your design and create the whole site from scratch in no time at all.

If you’d rather not use blogger, or would rather choose to own your own domain, there are many other services you can choose from that will actually build your site for you.

Again, all you’d need to do is select the design you like and put in your content.

Years ago, web design was incredibly difficult and technical.

Today, it’s as simple as a click of a button.

Find a service that works for you and you won't need any technical knowledge at all to create a great website.
