Have Testimonials and Results
Clearly Visible
One of the most effective ways to
build trust is to show people results you’ve achieved in the
past. Two great ways to do that are through testimonials and
case studies of results you’ve achieved.
Make sure at least a couple are on
your main page so that people who are browsing will see it.
You can either put the rest in a testimonials page or on
your main page as well.
List Rates and Services Clearly
Often times people will come to your
website already sold on your services and just want to check
your prices.
Trying to hide your prices is in
general not a good idea. Instead of calling you to ask, most
web browsers will simply leave and forget about you. Show
your prices – You have nothing to hide.
Be Personal, Yet Professional
Let your personality shine through
as much as you possibly can while still being professional.
Make sure you have a professional
picture of yourself on your website. You should be well
dressed in this picture and the picture should be high
resolution and crisp.
Have a Great About Page
What’s your background? Where are
you coming from? Why are you providing this service? Who is
going to be helping them?
These are questions that are all
going to flash through their minds before they hand over
their credit cards. Do your best to answer these questions
before they even need to ask them.
Specifically, make sure you have a
bio that tells your readers your background and history. Any
relevant past experience helps.
Your Contact Information
Your contact info should be clearly
visible on multiple pages of your website. There should be a
“Contact” page where you provide your email and phone
number.
Furthermore, you may want to put a
form on your website that makes it easy for people to just
contact you from your website.
Samples
If your work involves writing,
graphic editing, web design, etc then samples are crucial.
Most of your potential clients will judge you by the quality
of your samples more than anything else.
|
Put your best samples upfront.
Make sure your potential clients can get a “sense” for
your style of how you provide your services from your
samples.
Throughout the whole process,
you should be asking yourself: How do I set myself
apart?
What would make my site
jump out to a potential reader?
Remember: Your website is your
online business card. It represents you.
Spend as much time as you need
to make it really great.
