Using a Calendar to Keep Everyone on Task
|
|
There are daily, weekly, and monthly
calendars as well as organizers. Using a calendar to keep
everyone on task is an organization tool that can be easily
utilized on a daily basis.
Whether you outsource work form your home business or
delegate chores; having a calendar outlining everyone’s task
is one way to ensure the work is being done not only on the
assigned date, but in the case of outsourcing by the due
date as well.

One method of organization is to utilize a
daily calendar. Since most daily calendars are in book form, you may
wish to devise your own daily calendar by using computer programs
such as Microsoft Works. For example, you can customize a daily
calendar for a month and place the printed pages in a binder. Then,
each day, you can place each page of the calendar either on a
peg-board in your kitchen or on your refrigerator. In this way, if
you have assigned chores for the family it can be easily read on a
daily basis.
If you are outsourcing work, you can also customize a monthly
calendar to ensure all of the tasks are handed in by the due date.
While you can also pre-print tasks for each day using computer
programs, sometimes things change on a daily basis. To avoid having
to re-do any of the calendar pages, ask the members of the family to
choose a color and then color code a calendar template. Add the
tasks on the daily calendar with color pens reflecting the person to
whom the task is being assigned.
While these are some suggestions, undoubtedly you may have your own
system of checks and balances that works perfectly fine in your
business and/or home. The bottom line is that using a calendar to
keep everyone on task not only assures the tasks are completed, but
can be referenced at a later date in case a question arises from an
individual from whom you outsourced work.
In addition, having a calendar keeps everything organized and
organization is the key to success.
