You may be asked to evaluate the service as well as cleanliness of the store and the washrooms. You will need to keep mental notes of the whole experience and then fill out a form to report your findings. Usually, the company will reimburse you for the money you spent to complete the assignment and you are often able to keep the product you purchased during the mystery shop.

When you're looking for companies to mystery shop for, you will need to beware of scammers. Many companies are free to join. Some will offer different levels of membership and might require you to pay to receive certain benefits. Before you pay any money, be sure this is a legitimate company.

There is very little equipment required to get started in mystery shopping. Some companies may ask that you have a scanner, printer, or a fax machine so you can submit your receipts and your invoices. Compared to many other money-making opportunities, that is a small investment to make to earn money doing something that you'll enjoy.

There is a great deal of flexibility when you're mystery shopping. You will have to meet certain requirements when you're completing your assignments. These may include shopping at a store on a certain day or certain time of day.
